Acoustic guitarring and childrens_process

A couple of weeks ago my aunt pawned an acoustic guitar off on me; she had no intention of learning how to play it so instead of letting it collect dust in...where ever it was...she thought I might like it, since I was there taking all her pre-WWII books anyway. The guitar had all its strings and I have always wanted to learn how to play the guitar so I took it.

As hard as playing the piano was, at least the first 20-30 measures of Pachabel's Canon in D, the guitar is even harder. Piano chords are more or less one dimensional: spread your fingers this much, this far and you are alright. Guitar chords are two dimensional: put your fingers on the strings and put them on this fret or that fret. your hand winds up looking like some kind of claw used for swiping at things. And when you first begin your fingers will hurt...but that has passed now, which is nice since i didn't enjoy every other letter i typed being accompanied by some kind of finger hurt. It was like having a keyboard that was a pit of spikes.

I suspect I will be stuck on chords for a long time so I am mixing that up with divining the notes to the Wind Waker theme. Sure I could look it up but I"m confident I will figure it out. I'm not even sure why I'm writing in this blog. Perhaps its because I'm bored and tired and thus don't know I should be sleeping right now...or perhaps it's because this will give my one follower something to do when she is bored. Yes, she can read my jibberjabber :P

i'm never having kids...if you want your body decimated by a parasite then go ahead and have a kid
and then, after that decimation, you have to spend every waking moment taking care of the thing that did so much damage to you in the first place, or face some kind of jail time, only to have it turn on you in the end
THAT is what having a kid is. it amazes me that humanity made it out of its two centuries.

Something to think about:
"We have too many stupid people. We need to get rid of them. I know there's a lot but we have to start somewhere"

I'm working in it!

I think that's to be the overall theme for  the stuff: I'm working on it.

When will you be done working?

When I am finished.

What did you do this afternoon? Oh nothing really. I made myself some lunch although I cannot remember what that was. Then I got angry. Then I took a nap. After that I was cold and while being cold I put on a boot and pretended I was captain Ahab. Then I had some dinner, I think it was a peanut butter sandwhich and peanut butter with an apple. I had to go to work, which wasn't so bad. Except the phones. I think I hung up on patrons once or twice, accidentally of course.

The furnace is on! YAY! I can be warm for the 5 minutes it is on.

Serenity now! Serenity now!

And the Lord gave us soda...

And I drank it. And it was good. I did not share. And it was good.

All the people at work should make a cook book. They are all such wonderful cooks. Ctrl 5.

And I'm back.

I'm not feeling the blogging right now. I was earlier. But then I went away.

No. why would I need friends? i have the internet and all the funions I can eat. delicious delicious onion powder.

Super Mario 2 was such a stupid game. Sorry Nintendo. It had to be said. At least it wasn't The Adventures of Link though. that game was even worse. Sure it was okay at the start, but then you had to get the hammer. Those axe guys were terrible. And then you had to go through that cave and crap to get to the hidden village. "Ultimate challenge" does not even begin to describe that game.

the church on the other side of the woods is ruining my immersion

old people have a hard time understanding things. it's just the way it is

Why is there a rock in my purse? igneous rocks are the best..

Snow is like people

I used to like both...then I met them. People used to be alright. Then I started watching them. Then I watched them some more, furrowing my brow as I did, and I decided that these aren't the types of things I would like.

Snow was far more tricksy, however. It dances about the air. It is fun to throw at people. It is fun to shovel. It had all the qualities about it of something that is good and pure as the wind-driven snow. Then I grew older and realized snow, too, is bad. I think if we did not have cars snow would be better. Maybe cars are bad...or also bad?

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree...

...I hope you die in a fire.

I used to love Christmas. I really did. It was a great time of year, at first because of the presents I got when I was little then later on it was because of the fond memories I had created when I was younger. A lot of my most vivid and wonderful memories come from around Christmas time: setting up the cardboard fireplace, leaving cookies out for Santa, my little brother waking up early and sorting out all our presents and then singing the "Wake up" song, Dad making noise on the roof like Santa was there, and so on. We went all out. It was great.

I'm a grown up now with grown up concerns but Christmas time always felt magical and wonderful every year regardless of being an adult...until this year. This year I have seen the true spirit of Christmas and let me tell you it is a MEAN one, Mr. Grinch.
Admittedly I was just not feeling the proverbial "Christmas spirit" this year, but I was not loathing Christmas either. The true horribleness of the season was laid before me today in all  its rude, aggravating, consumeristic "wonder". Every store I went to was packed with inconsiderate, self-centered  busybodies. They blocked entire aisles with their bodies or carts. They blocked displays so that no other could browse the wears. When they needed to get through no "excuse me" was uttered. In the time I was at the stores, I was the only one that was saying "excuse me" or trying to be mindful of other people browsing. Sad is the day when the misanthrope is the only one being polite.

(I realized I never posted this. I must have thought I posted it but only in my mind.)

I'm thankful for you

The other day, perhaps it was yesterday...ok it was definitely not today and it cannot have been tomorrow...so the other day I was at work and one of the evening Pages happened to be there; I think he was going to just make a day of being at the library. It is a sad thing really, I love the library and I don't even want to be there all day. I would probably get a headache from all the smelly people there and my brain would shut down, much like it does when I've only had 5 cups of coffee. That reminds me...

We have a rule that says that an employee should not wear so much perfume or cologne that it would upset the sensitivities of other people, meaning don't bath yourself in those things because people can be allergic to the ingredients in the perfume/cologne, get headaches and so on. Also, the smell that smells great to you might not be so grand a smell to others. I hate lavender. Pretty flower. Terrible smell. Don't smell. That's the rule. Don't smell overly good and don't smell bad. Patrons are allowed to break this rule somehow and I don't think they should be. They smell terrible some of them, terrible to the point where after being in their vicinity for too long I get a terrible headache. They make my job more difficult. Shouldn't we get to eject them from the library?

I think I digressed.

Oh, so this Page well I have worked while he is working at the library and I have had opportunities to not only talk to him but observe how he behaves at work, so I know a bit about him albeit not nearly enough to judge him. Remember what Jesus said, don't judge people until you know how. What I know is that he can be quite annoying to me and seeing him that other day in the morning I realized:

I am thankful for you, and people like you...but not all of you.

I never understood, REALLY understood, what those Buddhists meant when they said you should be thankful for your enemies. It seems to me that this was one of those things Jesus said and if I was a good Catholic instead of a heathen I would remember what Jesus said and be able to quote it. I wish more people realized that thing that he said...hey I'm talking about religion. Weird.

At least it was the last day of this class...

I think I'll let the notes say it all
